My Review

What He Really Feels by Lisa Suzanne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really liked this book! I loved the characters and the story was great! book 1 was so beautiful and romantic but it left me feeling so sorry for Travis and I wanted to know what was next for him. I really liked Travis's character in the first book and I was sorry that he wasn't the one for her. In this one however WOW!...LOL...for all of its tremendous heartbreak for it practically drips from the pages! the steamy scenes make the pages sizzle! there is quite no other romance storyteller like Lisa!

After the aftermath of his heartbreaking breakup with his long-time off again and on again girlfriend/best friend Jules, Travis feels that it is time to set his life on a new path. His father has some openings at their firm in San Diego and Travis is hopping on the first chance out of here.

Before he goes however his buddies take him for one more night out one the town to say goodbye, a fateful night that as it turns out could change his life forever.

When Travis meets a mysterious and exotic beauty at the bar he is sure that he has never met anyone so beautiful and sexy before and after the most incredible and amazing night of his life she leaves without even telling him her name. Lost and hurting over not only Jules betrayal but now this mystery woman as well Travis tries to move on with his life in San Diego until on fateful day when at a party he bumps into none other then his mystery girl!

Now Travis has to make the hardest choice of his life, does he move on with his life and fight for a new love and a new life he could have with his mystery girl? or does he fight for his first love? the woman that he has loved all of his life.

Wonderful Story! I found Travis to be a little whinny and mystery girl really annoying at some parts but it was what made them see more like real people because they weren't perfect and they didn't really try to be.

if you haven't read this series yet defiantly TBR it! (for mature audiences only)

Interview

I got the chance to interview the wonderful and talented Lisa Suzanne author of the He Feels Series!

I was blown away by Lias's talent when reading the first book in the series and was supremely honoured when she asked me to review the second!

Lisa is an author that knows what she is doing when it comes to the written word and after reading this book I am going to have to go take a long cold ice bath....WOW! or rather the hell with it I am going to go find my husband ...LMAO....how do they do that on page 153 again....LOL...Just teasing anyway on with the interview!

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what made you delve into the world of Romance?

I’ve been married for eight years, I have a yellow lab, and I am a full time high school English teacher. I have always loved to write, and I’ve just always written romances. I kept spending all this time writing, and I would complain to my husband that it felt like a waste of time since I was too shy to share anything I wrote with anybody. He happened to be traveling home from a business trip and heard a podcast about self-publishing, so we researched it and he convinced me to get over my shyness… and here I am!

Q: Can you please tell us a little about your book What He Really Feels and what inspired you write it?

What He Really Feels is the second book in the He Feels Trilogy. It’s from Travis’s point of view and overlaps partially with the end of the first book. I was actually inspired to write it because of the reviews I received on How He Really Feels. Everyone kept asking what happened next with Travis. I had intended for the first book to be a standalone, but I realized I had a lot more story to tell!

Q: In your story we see Travis devastated by love, but yet uplifted by it at the same time. Do you see this book as more of a love triangle? or a breaking of the past love story?

I never saw either book as triangles, although the case could be made that there are triangles in both. I think book one is more about finding your soul mate, and book two is about breaking from the past and finding love just at that moment when it seems hopeless.

Q: Can you tell us about your writing process? Do you dream up these characters and then build the journey, or rather, do you dream the journey as you create?

I dream the journey as I create. I start with an idea – it might be a specific character, or a specific situation – and I just go with it and see where the characters take me. Travis’s story just spilled out of me over the summer; I picked up where his story leaves off in the first book and I knew the direction I wanted to take him, and the fun part of writing for me was getting him to that destination.

Q: If your own life was a subject of a book what type of fiction would it be: humour  horror, love story etc...?

Definitely a comedy of some kind! I love to laugh, and funny things just seem to happen to me or around me all the time.

Q: Have you always wanted to be a writer?

Yes, but I haven’t always known that. I’m a realist, and before self-publishing was a thing, I never believed that it would be anything more than a hobby. But now I am genuinely looking for ways to make writing my full time job. I have a passion for it – all aspects of it (yes, even editing!) – and I’d love to sit and create stories and characters all day long.

Q: We all know writing isn't easy. Can you tell us all what is the most challenging part of being an author?

The most challenging part of writing is staring at a blank screen with writer’s block. Because I work full time, sometimes it’s difficult to come home and sit at my computer and crank out my story after an exhausting day. The most challenging part of being an author that I didn’t expect is the marketing aspect. Clicking a PUBLISH button doesn’t mean anybody’s going to read it. Spreading the word is hard!

Q: What advice would you pass on to make the journey easier for other writers?

Join author groups and lean on other people who are going through the same thing to give you good advice, and do everything you can to give back, too. Remember that even though you might write alone, you’re not in this alone, and someone somewhere has probably experienced what you’re going through. And don’t let the haters get you down – remember that you write for yourself because you love it.

Q: Can you tell us a little about your next project?

I currently have two works in progress. First, I’m working on the final book in the He Feels Trilogy – Since He Really Feels. I don’t have a scheduled release date yet, but it’s about half written. I’m taking a short break from SHRF for the NaNoWriMo challenge this year – November is National Novel Writing Month, and the goal is to write a book in a month. This second work in progress is as yet untitled. Right now I’m planning on it being a standalone… and I can’t wait to introduce you to the deliciously sexy Jesse Drake.

OOOOHHHHH sounds delich ...I am sure you are all on pins and needles to read them both as I know I am!!!

Q: Thank you so much for the interview, Lisa. Would you like to tell my readers where they can find you on the web?

Thanks for having me, Amanda! Here are all of my links:
