Book Description

If the king loses his head, then the Queen with a Bleeding Heart would rule the Red Court until Time ceased to move forward. When a second carried on for infinity, every creature in Wonderland would tip their Hat to the misfit girl with a Boy’s name (or was it a boy with a Girl’s name?) who’d end the Reign of Terror. However, it all hinged on the One-Eyed Hare being able to convince an uninspirable Heir that the impossible was indeed possible—like stopping time—and that Love was worth a Beheading.
Heads would Roll…
Hearts would Break…

In the end, would it matter who Reigned?

Interview

I had the amazing honour of interviewing Sarah and Reviewing Death of the Mad Hatter. I was Blown away by Sarah's Talent and intrigued by her as a friend.

She puts so much heart, passion, imagination and crazy creativity into her work that you can see it in every word of her story! every twist and turn is more brilliant then the last and every intrigue more fetching then the next!

its a story that you never want to stop reading because you are too busy falling down the rabbit hole yourself. Get your copy! and brace yourself for the wild and twisted ride to Wonderland!

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what made you delve into the world of fiction?

My idea of writing didn’t start until a dear friend forced me to watch Twilight with her. Sparkling vamps? Give me a break. But I humored her, thinking that any night I had an excuse to shove popcorn down my throat was a good night. Within three days following the movie I finished the first two books. Soon after I found a few different authors specializing in the sci-fi/fantasy realm and read their works. Days turned into months about as quickly as I turned each page in the books I finished. Soon I had a dilemma. My favourite authors weren't coming out with their newest works for another several months. A light bulb went off in my head…

Q: Can you please tell us a little about your book Death of the Mad Hatter and what inspired you write it?

Josh Wilcoxon of Wilcoxon Photography has a few twisted fairy tale pics that he does out of his passion for photography. He and a colleague were both Alice in Wonderland fans, so they snapped away. I stumbled onto the pictures and fell in love. Here’s the pics from the TRIAL shoot.

Q: Can you tell us about your writing process? Which comes first? The character's story or the idea for the novel?

Ooooooh this is a loaded question!!!  Truth is, I let my characters write the story for me. Okay, I know that makes me sound nuts, but I just go with it. I pay more attention into character development and randomly throw them into situations and write how i think they would be react. Sometimes, though the characters are stubborn and hijack my story—taking me someplace I never intended to go. Case and point: I once thought I was writing a story about the mafia and it turned out to be a story about aliens.

Q: if you were to write yourself into this book what kind of character would you be?

Well, see... I sort of become all my characters. Pour my heart and soul into them. I’ll admit I’m a little crazy, stubborn, occasionally mean.... okay okay, sometimes my witch radar goes berserk (my husband usually just stands back and throws chocolate at me until I feel better). Everyone has parts of their personality. When “I’m in character” I just pull those demeanours out. I’m obviously not shy—bold and unrelentingly spontaneous are more my style, but I have no problem putting myself into the mind frame of being uncertain or timid. That being said, in the Death of the Mad Hatter, I’d say I’m most like Alice Mae.

Q: this book had so many fantastical twists and turns, What was the hardest part to write?

Oh, the ending by far!!! I’m a HEA kinda girl. And *SPOILER ALERT* had several different endings to this piece and just struggled with it. I’d kill a character off, and then get remorseful and bring him back to life only to destroy another person’s life. It was a wild ride!!

Q: Which part was your favourite to write?

Alice Mae POV: I loved making her infuriating, loveable, and incredibly miserable to stand. For the beginning of the story, I only wrote in Ryley’s POV (my first time writing first person as a icky boy!) And, I just wasn’t feeling it. So I decided to throw in a little more Alice and it just popped.

Q:  Do you have any strange writing habits (like standing on your head or writing in the shower)?

Well, my husband says I “make eye-love” to the computer when I’m writing and I also moan a lot. MOAN?!?!? I was so mortified when he admitted it (after having to turn up the TV volume to block me out) I couldn’t believe what people think of me when I’m writing—hell, I write in coffee shops. I can’t imagine what they think I’m looking at on my computer.

Q: If faced with all of the crazy splender of Wonderland life what would you do?

Eat candies and never stop, lol.

Q: What are you working on at the moment / next?

Well, I’m pretty sure my fan base for the Fate Trilogy will come after me with pitch forks if I don’t finish the final book soon. (while I don’t usually) I ended the book on this teensy-weensy (okay, it was huge) cliff hanger. But, in my defense, the characters hijacked the story and left me responsible to clean up their mess.... I haven’t a clue how that is going to happen. :S

Q: Thank you so much for the interview, Sarah. Would you like to tell my readers where they can find you on the web and where everyone can buy your book?

Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Kobo, and Smashwords. Both as ebook and paperback.

Thank you so much for your time (and I hope I didn’t scare too many people off by my craziness!)
