WW4BB Presents: A Spotlight and Review on From the Embers - Born in Flames Trilogy by Candace Knoebel

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 1:25:00 am

Synopsis

I am the Progeny. The one deemed to carry this weight. The weight of knowing too much. Of knowing there is a darkness in me. Of knowing that even The Fates can screw things up.

Aurora Megalos knew becoming the Progeny meant great sacrifice, but what she wasn’t prepared for was sacrificing herself. Since the day of her birth, she has been set on a path she couldn’t control; a path conceived by The Fates. And after discovering she is mortally connected to her Arch Enemy Zordon-a son of a Fate, Aurora is now left with a path that seems hopeless.

Until she discovers a revelation in the prophecy.

With war on the horizon, she must now find a way to defeat the one who threatens to take everything and everyone she has ever loved from her, without destroying herself. The barrier between both realms is broken, The Fates have been overrun by Zordon, and his darkness now spreads throughout the lands. The odds are stacked against her. Will Aurora and Fenn find a way to undo the work of The Fates in time to save the realms from complete destruction?

Amazing book and incredible series! Candace is a wonderful writer and I can't get enough of her books! This series has so much strength, heart and courage that it makes you want to read it again and again. Your imagination soars when it comes to this book, where everything is real and and they are all coming to get you. I couldn't put it down from the very first word and I am sure you won't be able to either!

Aurora Megalos is the Progeny. She was to stop Zordon from fulfilling the prophecy but things didn't go quite according to plan. Since the day of her birth, she has been set on a path she couldn’t control, a path conceived by The Fates. Aurora was left with a path that seems hopeless.

That is until they discovered the missing part of the prophecy.

Now Aurora is back, its a year later and everything has changed. Zordon has taken over and they don't have many allies left, not only that but Zordon's darkness in leaking into the human realm. In order to save both worlds Aurora must step up and except the destiny she was dealt. The odds are stacked against her. Will Aurora and Fenn find a way to undo the work of The Fates in time to save the realms from complete destruction?

Excerpt

Prologue
“This just in,” a woman’s steely voice said. She paused, her eyes skimming over the monitor, taking in the words that were displayed on the screen before she had to deliver them to the thousands that tuned in.
Her eyes came to a hasty halt and she stiffened in her seat. She looked off to the left, stealing a breath. “I can’t believe it,” she mumbled to herself, her lips quivering. Her heart threatened to leap out of her chest.
She looked back up at the camera with a strained smile, her face paling as she tried her best to resume her composure. But the sound of the paper rattling in her hands was a dead giveaway.
Something was wrong.
She stared at the light in front of her that read “on air” and swallowed, regretting for the first time the duty that came with being a news anchor. Another weak smile pressed on her lips, her mind running blank.
Someone from behind the camera ushered her on with a small hand wave. She was fully aware of all the curious stares in the studio. Something she had never paid any mind to before.
Her co-anchor cleared his throat.
She shook her head, pulling herself together. “I don’t quite know how to put this.” Her voice was almost inaudible. “It seems there has been a phenomenon. One that cannot be explained.” She stopped, knowing that so many lives out there were unaware of what was to come next. Knowing she was about to forever change those lives with the next words she would speak.
“We have been advised by the Department of Homeland Security to evacuate immediately to your nearest advised shelter. Our world is under attack.”
The camera zoomed into her face for the deliverance of that last sentence that hung at the bottom of the screen like a noose. The room quieted. She paused once again, regretting the next words that were to leave her mouth, but knowing it was of great importance. The world depended on it.
“Our world is no longer ours as we know it.”
The screen went fuzzy, and the earth began to rumble.

Book 1 in the Born in Flames trilogy

Red mirrored scales race up my arms as the haze of pain blurs my vision. My bones crack, breaking to realign. I scream. It is then that the realization of my unavoidable fate sinks in; I am of a dying race. I am dragon.

Aurora Megalos, orphaned and teetering on the edge of adulthood, thought finding her past would curb the sting of being an outcast. Having no memories of the time before she awoke on her foster mother’s doorstep, she yearns for the emptiness inside her to be filled. With her fellow orphaned best friend, Fenn, by her side, she has nothing to lose and everything to gain. But something powerful stirred within her that she couldn’t explain. Something wanted out.

In the dark of night, a crazed Seer, dubbed Mr.Creepy, erases everything she’s ever known with an impending prophecy. She now faces two paths. Return to her true home to protect a dying race against a growing evil, or stay hidden in the safety of our realm with a shot at a true love. With a vengeful Arch Enemy stopping at nothing to see her dead, she’s running out of time; a decision must be made. What would you choose?

WW4BB Presents: A Review of The Fault in our Stars by John Green Written by: Kiran

Posted by Unknown on 12:35:00 pm

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hello, it is me again, here to bring you another tale. This time not of space or sci-fi or horror, but more of a tragic yet heart-warming story that had me emotionally hooked by page TEN.

This story, ‘The Fault in our Stars’, starts off with a young teen girl named Hazel going through lung cancer who meets a young man called Augustus Waters at group counseling. At first Hazel seems annoyed with him but soon seems to warm up to his charming and intelligent attitude, and eventually they become friends. Though Hazel proves afraid to come close to more than just that, as she feels she may die soon and doesn’t want to leave him with a broken heart.

What made me not want to put this book down was how well it was thought out. The ending was a twist one, completely unexpected, and all the same had a very tragic but interesting plotline. The characters themselves wouldn’t take pity for their conditions and were probably the most snarky I ever read about. They all had the most emotionally-clinging experiences that made me beg for more even on the last page of the book. I have absolutely no cons about this story, for chapter by chapter I felt like my life simply couldn’t compare to one of a battle of cancer.

John Green, I hope you’re proud, because your book is one that changed many lives as it did my own as well. Please continue writing, for your simply fabulous at it. <3

WW4BB Presents: A Review of Matt Archer: Bloodlines By Kendra C. Highley

Matt Archer: Bloodlines
By Kendra C. Highley
Date Published: 1/4/2014
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal

Blurb

When seventeen-year-old Matt Archer set out on his last mission in the Australian Outback, he thought it would be like every other hunt.

Not even close.

After only two days on the ground, his best friend is possessed, a long-lost family member has returned and hidden truths have come to the surface. Add in a coven of witches bent on bringing about the end of the world and, well, this trip has started to suck. Badly.

As his power and strength continue to grow, so does Matt’s concern that he’s becoming more and more like the creatures he’s been charged to hunt: a monster.

Faced with some of his biggest challenges to date, Matt has to decide what he needs to protect most—his family, his team…or himself.

My Review

Matt Archer: Bloodlines by Kendra C. Highley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great Book! I loved all the action! this book had so much action I was falling down with exhaustion along with the characters...lol..but it was so real I could see it play out in my head like I was watching it on t.v. and I totally loved it! these books should so be movies or a T.V. Series!

Kendra C. Highley is a incredible writer, her characters fairly leap off the page! The monsters were terrifying, the heroes brilliant and strong and the villain totally dark and evil, but at the same time I found it still had a touch of innocence and whimsy about it.

Matt Archer may only be seventeen but hunting monsters is what he does, what he is destined to do and what he is trained to do. All of this still doesn`t prepare him for the mission he is about to face when a long lost family member is thrown into his mission and his best friend gets possessed by a demon.

With evil Witches, monsters galore and a new evil brewing, Matt is sure that their luck will start to run out soon. When Matts sister is kidnapped and two girls are killed, he is sure that will be the end of him, as his power and strength continue to grow, so does Matt’s concern that he’s becoming more and more like the creatures he’s been charged to hunt: a monster. Will he get to his sister in time? and if he can't save her how can he be expected to save the world?

This book was wonderful! I really enjoyed all the characters, although I think I have to say that Will and Matt's little sis were two of my fav characters. I really liked all the action in the story it really kept you on your toes and kept the book flowing at all times.

I highly recommend this series to one and all! if you haven't read it do so today!

EXCERPT

When I was fourteen, I picked up a knife and started a fight that was named mine long before I was born. When I was fifteen, I was forced into a war against creatures the rest of humankind should never know about—and they won’t if I have anything to do about it. When I was sixteen, I became a slave to my destiny, and the spirits who guided it.
Now I’m seventeen, and the fault, a man once said, is not in our stars, but in ourselves. Or in my case, my blood. Which is why I was chosen. And why I have to fight.
My name is Matt Archer. And I am my father’s son.

* * *

“I’ll kill you!  I’ll kill all of you and drink your blood!”
My best friend was in rare form this evening. Will had been ranting like that ever since he managed to spit out the bandana we’d gagged him with. No one felt like dealing with him, though, so we didn’t bother shoving the gag back in.
Still, I felt responsible for his well-being, even if Will was possessed by a demon and not his usual happy asshat self. I grabbed an MRE—a hamburger patty for the entree—and ducked inside the command tent, one of the few left standing after last night’s monster attack. The interior smelled like sweat, piss and…burned bacon?
“Gross, dude,” I told not-Will. “You smell like a prison latrine.”
Not-Will spit at me. His face was pale in the dim light, but his eyes glowed a brilliant jade green. “You’ll beg for mercy before the end.”
“That’s getting really old. Why don’t you give your voice a rest, okay?” I held up the MRE. “I’m guessing that even demons have to eat. You hungry?”
Not-Will shut up for a moment, but his muscles still strained against the towing cable keeping him tied to his cot. My best friend, at six-four and two-hundred-forty pounds, was pretty strong on his own. Add in a little dark magic, and he was like a tank with legs. It had taken three guys to tie him up, and the Humvee’s towing cable—one end still attached to the vehicle—had been the only thing hefty enough to keep not-Will chained.
“I would appreciate a meal,” he said in a formal, polite voice.
That wasn’t like the real Will, either.
“Okay. I’ll feed you and bring you some water, if only to keep your mouth full so you can’t scream at us for a while.”
I opened the MRE, discarding anything not-Will could use as a weapon if he got loose. Because his hands were tied behind his back, I had to feed him.
“Seriously, man, if you remember any of this after we exorcise you, you’ll never live it down,” I muttered as not-Will chomped up his food like a rabid dog.
“I’ll kill you soon, so none of that matters,” not-Will said, smiling and showing me bits of carrot in his teeth.
In any other situation, I’d have laughed. This evening, I had too much on mind to find any of this funny.
Badass Aunt Julie poked her head in the tent while I attempted to shovel applesauce into not-Will’s mouth. She wrinkled her nose at the stench. “Poor Will.”
“Hello, gorgeous.” Not-Will leered at my aunt, and his eyes roamed every part of her body. Even wearing desert print battle-dress uniform, Aunt Julie was gorgeous…and no one but my Uncle Mike had license to look at her that way. My fists clenched as he said, “Think I’ll keep you around a while after I’ve killed all the men. We could have a little fun.”
Aunt Julie gave not-Will a dangerous smile. The demon must not know who he was dealing with. “I’d like to see you try. I could kill you with a nail. Or a spoon.” Her smile faded into a scowl. “Or a tire-iron. I’m not picky.”
“Captain, did you need something?” I asked, not in the mood to break up a tent brawl. When in doubt, interrupt.
“Sorry,” she said, rubbing her eyes. “The major got worried so I came to check on you.”
I shrugged; Major Tannen—also known as my Uncle Mike and Aunt Julie’s husband—had reason to worry. Right now, it seemed like this day would never, ever end.
I’d gotten most of the food into not-Will’s mouth and I was ready to escape. “Will, if you’re in there, kick that demon’s ass, okay? See you later.”
We’d barely cleared the tent before he started screaming threats again. Every muscle in my back tensed up. “Tell the major I’ll be at the other end of camp.” I jabbed a thumb at the command tent. “I don’t think I can handle listening to that anymore.”
Aunt Julie patted my shoulder. “We’ll fix it. Agent Archer thinks his contact with the local Nocturna Maura coven can help displace Will’s demon.”
Agent Archer…maybe if I called him that—instead of Dad—this whole situation would be a little less weird.
I doubted it, though. “I need some air.”
I stalked to the far end of camp and settled down facing west. The sun was beginning to set, and I needed its warmth and protection for as long as it lasted. Night would bring horrors, and I had to be prepared to fight them.
I reached into my left jacket pocket and pulled out the St. Christopher medal my girlfriend had given me more than a year ago. I turned it over and over in my hand.  I missed Ella like crazy, and the medal gave me hope that I’d live to see another dawn.
Dad came striding out of the HQ tent and headed my direction. He didn’t see Uncle Mike step out behind him, his right arm bound up in a sling. Not-Will had dislocated Uncle Mike’s shoulder in addition to breaking my nose last night. Mike watched Dad’s progress with narrowed eyes. I let out a long breath. As if I didn’t have enough to deal with; now I was caught in a tug of war between the guy who fathered me and the man who raised me. My life could easily be a three-ring circus for all the chaos and drama going on around me.
“Tink, think you could, I don’t know, teleport me somewhere?”
No answer.
“Crap, now I’m missing you and Ella. How’s that for irony?”
Still nothing. Yeah, Tink was well and truly gone. Our knife-spirits had been banished somehow. Not-Will had told us his mistress had sent them away. As angry as I’d been with Tink when we left on this mission, the absence of her presence in my head left an echoing emptiness. And despair, too. How could we complete this operation without the spirits’ help? I had to get her back somehow, if not for me, for Will. I’d seen Tink save someone else from a demon possession—maybe she’d be able to help Will, too.
If only I could find her.

My Review

Lunangelique by Kristin R. Campbell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Awesome Book! I love stories about Angels and I have to say this one has got to be one of my favs! I really loved the action, the romance and the twist of mythology and angel lore. Kristin R. Campbell is a incredible writer who defiantly keeps you guessing throughout the book and just when you thing you have it figured out she throws something new at you that you totally didn't see coming! I can't wait to read more!

For twins Alexis and Alex being adopted has never really been an issue. They have great parents, great friends, go to a good school and get good grades. That is until a certain hottie moved in across the street and their whole world started to come apart. Now people are after them, they are being watched and for some strange reason Alexis can't keep her hands or her lips of the boy across the road!

Alexis is sure it all has to do with their birth parents, but she isn't sure what. Strange things are happening with the twins as well, They doing things they shouldn't be able to do. They are scared and Alexis is pretty sure they aren't even human, but if they aren't human what are they?

She is hoping to find her biological parents and finding out those answers for the questions just keep piling up and the people who are watching are done waiting. Will they survive to find out who their parents are?

great Story! I loved how the author brought the two different religions together in one story! I have never seen that before. I loved the character of Cole! he was so romantic and dark, sigh, a total hottie!

if you haven't read this series I suggest you start for you are missing out! TBR today! I know I am!

Then, there is the problem of Zeus’ threat. Lexi must choose between giving herself to him or watching the “abominable” angels die by his hand. Not to mention, Hera, Zeus’ wife, is proposing her own jealous-driven proposition to Lexi: stay away from her husband or the angels and everyone dear to her will die. Lexi sees no way out of either predicaments and it puts a strain on her relationship with Cole. Will she lose him either way?

Excerpt from Lunangelique

(First book in series)

He laughs at me like I have said the funniest joke in the world. I keep my face neutral, not wanting to show any emotions while he finally collects himself. “You are amusing. Aren’t you afraid? Why do you not fear me? Do you know what I have done to Kakabel? What I intend to do to you?”
I shrug my shoulders, wanting to appear as calm as possible. “I won’t be scared if I tell myself there is nothing to fear. You cannot hurt me because I will tell myself not to feel pain. I don’t know what you did to my art professor so I won’t know what you will do to me.” I play him with words because I know he won’t understand.
“Where are your wings?” he demands, angry now because I’m not giving anything away.
“What this?” I nod my chin to the necklace around my neck. He comes forward and yanks it off my neck. “Hey, I like that,” I whine like a spoiled child.
“Malachi,” he calls towards the other room. In a few seconds, Malachi is by his side. He takes Cole’s wings that Cerviel hands him and studies it before laughing. “I thought you would like that.” Malachi throws it on the floor and stomps on it. “Go back to Samson,” Cerviel orders him. Malachi is gone in the blink of an eye, leaving me alone with Cerviel again.
“That’s my necklace.” I pout. “There’s no reason to treat it that way.”
“It will hurt your lover,” he informs me with a malicious smile. “If you will not cooperate, then we will torture him.”
“How?” I challenge him.
“His wings,” he indicates to the necklace lying on the floor, “contains a link to him. They’re still connected even though they’re not attached. If you hurt one, then you hurt the other.”
“You’re insane.” I act like his notions are ridiculous.
“Want to test it out?” he picks it up and places his hands on either end like he’s about to twist it or break it in two.
“No!” I scream, terrified that what he says is true.
Games up. I lost this match. Sugar snaps!
“What are you?” he asks again patiently. He takes a chair and places it in front of me. Then, he sits down, folding his legs and hands as they rest on his leg. He’s acting like this is a normal conversation over tea with a friend.
“Can I have some water, please?” I’m trying to buy some time to get away.
“After you answer my questions,” he answers.
“Are you going to let me go after I do?”
“It depends on if I like your answers.” He smiles sweetly at me. “What are you?”
“A girl who is starting to get pissed off that you keep asking me that, like I’m a freaking alien or something!” I scream it at him. I close my eyes and take a deep breath to calm down when I feel a slap across my face. My eyes dart open and I glare at him angrily. I taste blood on the side of my mouth. He stares at the wound and I see a light bulb go off in his eyes. He grins wickedly at me and then produces a switch blade from his pocket.
“Let’s see how much of a pissed off girl you really can be,” he mocks me and then plunges the knife into my hand, impaling it into the arm of the chair I was gripping. My eyes bulge open in shock and horror and I want to scream, but I tell my nerves not to feel anything and my hand goes dead of feeling. I’m so glad right now that I’m a freak.
He watches my expression change with amusement and then looks lethal again when I don’t scream out. I drum the fingers of my other hand on the arm of the chair. Acting like I’m bored with this act.
“Where are your wings?” Cerviel demands of me.
“I don’t have any wings you freakin’ lunatic. I’m just a girl.” I start laughing because my hand not responding to being impaled is a pretty sure sign that I am not human. I feel psychotic in the moment. I think shock is setting in and I cannot control it. I just continue to laugh at him.
His face breaks out in uncontrolled angry grimace and then he pulls the knife out of my hand and plunges it into my chest. I feel it tear through the arteries of my heart. I’m so shocked he did it that I stop breathing, which ends my laughter.
“Go and find her brother,” I hear him bark at someone before I black out again.

The past and the future are about to come full circle.

Excerpt

“Start checking vehicles,” I said, racing across the street to a parking lot. “Maybe we’ll find something with keys.”
“Eve,” West said as we started yanking car doors open. “You know if that kid was infected that it’s too late for Avian. He’ll get infected.”
I shook my head, my jaw set hard. “No,” I said as I checked another car. No keys. “There’s a chance the boy wasn’t infected. And if it just barely happened, he won’t be able to spread the infection for a few hours.”
But even as I made my argument, I knew it wasn’t true. Those bodies had been dead for days, maybe even over a week. If the kid was infected, TorBane would be fully saturated into his system.”
“Got it!” West shouted. He held up a pair of keys as a floor mat came tumbling out of the truck. “Get in!”
I hopped into the passenger seat and slammed the door shut. I tossed our supplies in the back seat. “You don’t know how to drive,” I said, my voice breathy.
“Today seems like a good day to learn,” West said, shoving the key in the ignition.
The truck clicked and sputtered. It had been a sitting, rusting dinosaur for six years. We’d been stupid to think any of these vehicles might start.
“Come on!” West shouted, pounding the steering wheel. He slammed one of the pedals with his foot and suddenly it roared to life. “Yes!”
“That there puts it into drive, I think,” I said, pointing to the stick on the side of the driving column.
West yanked on it and the truck jerked backwards and slammed into the vehicle behind us.
“Okay,” West said, shifting the stick again. “R stands for reverse. So D for drive?”
“Let’s assume,” I said, my blood racing and pounding in my ears. “Let’s go!”
D was indeed for drive and we rocketed forward, clipping another vehicle as we swung wildly out of the parking lot and onto the street.
“That woman was touched,” I said, bracing myself as we swerved madly. “She had probably gone out to look for food or something when a Hunter must have found her. West, this means they’re starting to come back into the city.”
The speedometer crept up to eighty miles an hour as we peeled back onto the onramp. Just as we pulled onto the freeway, there was a figure ahead of us. There was no time to stop and the truck plowed right into it.
The mechanical body broke right in half, completely cybernetic by this time. The upper half of the body crashed into the windshield, shattering it.
We both screamed as the glass burst into tiny glittering pieces and an arm dangled between the two of us.
“Holy…” West bellowed as the truck swerved violently back and forth and we ran over the lower half of the body.
“Keep driving!” I shouted. I was about to reach for the shoulders of the body, when its hand suddenly flung out at me, and wrapped around my throat.
West swore loudly. “It’s still alive?!”
“Keep…” I gasped for air as West swerved in an attempt to put distance between himself and the Bane that was somehow still attacking. “Driving!”
Wrapping my hands around the wrist, I squeezed until the cybernetic bones crumpled and bent and the hand let go. Plowing the heel of my hand into what was left of where its nose should have been, its head whipped back with a sickening crunch. The thing was instantly still.
But still carrying active TorBane.
I coughed violently, unbuckling my seatbelt.
“You okay?” West asked, wild fear in his eyes as he attempted to drive straight. He leaned as far to the left as possible, attempting to put some space between him and the mangled Bane.
“Yeah,” I croaked. My throat was probably bruised. “Keep driving. I’ll take care of this.”
I half stood as well as I could in the cramped space. Placing my hands on its shoulders, I gave a good shove. The body slid forward two feet and to the right. But one of its arms slipped down the front of the hood and caught in the grill.
“Oh, come on,” West said, looking at the body in disbelief.
“Keep driving,” I repeated. I used my boot to knock out the rest of the glass hanging around the frame of the window. Crawling up onto the dash, I slowly worked my way out onto the hood of the truck.
As we drove over the bumpy freeway, the arm wedged its way tighter and tighter into the grill. Finally, I simply snapped the arm off at the elbow. The rest of the body crashed to the ground. I tried yanking the rest of the arm free, but it wouldn’t budge.
“Get back in here, Eve!” West shouted. “We can have it melted down later. Sit down before I kill you!”
An amused chuckle worked its way through my lips as I carefully climbed back up the hood and into the vehicle.
“Well, this turned into an exciting day,” West said, shaking his head.
“Yeah, I think the Bane are getting back into the city,” I said, pushing my windblown hair back off my forehead. “That store was supposed to be fifteen miles inside our perimeter. They’ll be getting back into the center of the city soon. I thought I’d cleared all of them out for five hundred miles after the beacon went off.”
“Just another day in the world of the Evolution,” West said. “Must have been a Sleeper that recently woke up. It could have been inactive when you called them all out to the desert.
“For once, could the element of time just be on our side?” I said, exasperated.
“What,” West said, smiling at me as he swerved around a particularly large crack in the road. “And make life simple and boring?”
I shook my head and laughed. “Seriously.”

I woke to find myself in a strange new world called Los Angeles. The only keys to the life I remembered were my father’s ring, my unique abilities, and the onslaught of demons that seemed hell-bent on finding me. Now I must find out who I really am, protect my friends, and get back to my beloved hometown of Orenda.

Guest Post

They say that you should never discuss religion or politics.

Screw them. Let’s chat religion.

I recently tried to place an advertisement for Death of the Body in a local Utah newspaper. The Amazon reviews are good (so are the Goodreads reviews), so I didn’t think I’d have much trouble.

Unfortunately, I got a very odd response: “It appears from the reviews on Amazon, that your novel challenges the validity of many organized religions, and that is a message that does not align with our brand.”

Since that time, I get the question “How do you respond to those who think your book is anti-religious” about everywhere I go. I’m seriously starting to consider telling people I’m a ghostwriter for Dan Brown (yeah, let’s start spreading that rumor!).

Honestly, though, I never intended the book to be taken as offensive, but I think I’ve figured out why some people have issues with the religious undertones.

dmund has an entirely different perspective from the world. His experiences and life don’t align with what religion is teaching him. For example, when taught that you go to Heaven or Hell when you die, he questions that teaching because he DID die, and woke up on Earth.

When searching for his people, mages who have magical powers like he does, he’s taught that only the prophets of the Bible had such powers, so obviously he begins to think himself a prophet.

Is it any wonder why he can’t relate?

And how many experiences have you had that you can’t align with whatever religion you are most close to?

If you are a believer (and to clarify, I am), but haven’t ever had to question your faith, if your experiences in life have never misaligned with what is being taught to you by the preacher at the pulpit, you may have an issue with Death of the Body. I invite you to enjoy the book, and ask the questions Edmund asks to yourself. See where you fall. Ask yourself why it’s offensive (and in doing so, I think you’ll learn something about yourself).

If you can relate to Edmund, if you’ve already resolved the questions he’s asked, then I think you’ll find his journey of self-discovery entertaining.
And entertaining is what a novel should do.

About Rick Chiantaretto

I've often been accused of having done more in my life than the average 30 year old, but if I were completely honest I'd have to tell you my secret: I'm really 392.

So after all this time, I'm a pretty crappy writer.

I have one book published but out of print, one coming out soon, and a bunch half written (when you have eternity, where's the reason to rush?). I've been favorably reviewed by horror greats like Nancy Kilpatrick, and my how-to-write-horror articles have been quoted in scholarly (aka community college freshmen's) papers.

I enjoy the occasional Bloody Mary, although a Bloody Kathy or Susan will suffice. Mostly, I just try to keep a low profile so people don't figure out who I REALLY am.
