My Review
Any Witch Way by Dylan NewtonMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this book! Dylan Newton is a writing genius! I couldn't get enough of Dylan's story or the characters. it was fresh, romantic and had a natural flow and yet you could still feel the whimsical qualities to it. I loved all the nature based and wiccan elements in the story, as a wiccan myself I really appreciated Dylan's attention to detail. I also liked that didn't get to Far-fetched with her magic casting and kept it more down to earth.
I also enjoyed the romanticism between the main characters. The though of someone going to such lengths to right a wrong is not only romantic, but awe inspiring. Joshua thinks that he has no choice to do it but in a lot of ways I think he would have done it regardless because that is just the type of person he is. When Lily meets Joshua for the first time she sees what incredible power and strength he possesses, and can't help but start to fall for him right then.
This isn't a book for anyone under 18 because of the mature scenes but I wish everyone could read it because it was one of the best I have read in awhile! Dylan Newton is amazing and I defiantly can't wait to read more of her books!

Lily has resigned herself to a life of perpetual virginity as every man she ever dates ends up in the hospital one way or another, that is until Joshua walks into her life. Joshua is a witch and is here to complete penance for a deadly spell cast centuries ago.Together, with Wiccan magick, they must battle ancient dark forces ...ANY WITCH WAY they can.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what made you delve into the world of writing?
Just like most avid readers, books have always been my escape. I think it was when I was in middle school, when my home life was particularly tough, that writing became my way to escape. I wrote the books that I wanted to read—and those I wrote in middle and high school will never, ever see the light of day! But it was then that I became very passionate about pursuing a career as a writer.
Q: Can you please tell us a little about your book ANY WITCH WAY and what inspired you write it?
ANY WITCH WAY, is a paranormal romance novella featuring Lily—a graduate student with a devastating curse who encounters Joshua, a Wiccan with a secret of his own. Together they battle an ancient evil, struggling to save their lives and their new-found love. The novella was inspired by my deep interest in the Wiccan religion, as well as a song by one of my favorite bands, Godsmack, called “Voodoo.” (And yes, that means I listen to a TON of hard rock music!)
Q: Can you tell us about your writing process? Which comes first? The character's story or the idea for the novel?
Usually the idea for the novel comes first. I’ll be sitting somewhere, and a thought will come into my head. “Hey, what if there was this college girl that was cursed to never know passion?” followed by the inevitable questions of “How’d that happen?” and “What does she do now?” and these generate a rough (very, very rough!!) outline of events that is the inception of a book. Typically, I struggle with endings. I rock the beginning, wade through the middle, then spend days or weeks figuring out the ending. It’s maddening, but that’s how it works for me! J
Q: If you could choose to live the life of one of the characters from your story who would it be?
For Any Witch Way, it would be Lily, my heroine. She’s damaged at the story’s beginning, but through her strength, and with a little help from her friends and new-found love, she ‘fixes’ herself and at the story’s end, you just know the world is her oyster, and her life is now truly beginning. I love the rejuvenation process her character undertakes and am envious of the adventures she’ll have later in life!
Q: What made you want to write a book about Wiccan rites and curses gone astray?
I wanted to write a book that centered on my favorite ‘holiday’ –Halloween, which led to writing about Samhain, the Wiccan New Year. In researching for this novel, I came across the beautiful rite, ‘The Five Fold Kiss’ and absolutely knew that must be in the book! Then, I sort of built up curses and things that led to such a rite being necessary. My fantastic editor (Callie Lynn Wolfe) at The Wild Rose Press, suggested I incorporate a demon or incubus in the novella, and that is when Sitri made his appearance in revisions.
Q: Why a book about Witches? Do you or someone you know live the ways of the craft? or is it just something you fancy?
Why not a book about Witches and Craft? There are far too few, if you ask me. I get asked a lot of questions about my religion, especially since ANY WITCH WAY, and it’s a topic, like politics, that I generally avoid, as it typically ends in an argument. I will say that most people from an organized religious background are woefully ignorant about the history of religion in the world, and if there’s one thing I despise, it’s willful ignorance and the fear-mongering it breeds.
Q: Do you have any strange writing habits (like standing on your head or writing in the shower)?
LOL, no! But I do use a kitchen timer. I need motivation most days to keep my butt in the chair for longer periods of time!!
Q: What books/authors have influenced your life?
I am a HUGE fan of Stephen King, and it was his books, and those like his, that I turned to most when I sought escape growing up.
Q: What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?
Yes! In fact, on May 21 my next paranormal romance featuring a female Alpha werewolf (called DESPITE THE FANGS) will be released! While I love all my heroines and heroes, I can honestly say that Aribella and Mason from DESPITE THE FANGS are my favorite because of their incredible chemistry and backgrounds. These two sizzle from the moment they meet! J You can check out the trailer for this book, as well as my other books, on my website at www.dylannewton.com.

About the Author
Dylan Newton was born and raised in a small town in Upstate New York where the local library was her favorite hang-out. Despite earning a degree in English Literature, Dylan spent more than a decade sidetracked by an executive position in corporate America where she swears she contracted testosterone poisoning. After leaving, she dedicated herself to more estrogen-rich passions, like motherhood, writing romance novels and her never-ending quest for the perfect date night.
Dylan married her high-school sweetheart and they are busy living out their own happily ever after in sunny Florida with their two incredible daughters and a snoring Shih-Tzu.
