House Rules by Chloe Neill
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was an exciting and wonderful new chapter to the Chicagoland Vampires. I really enjoy this series of books and each one brings new and exciting challenges into Merits life. The characters are always witty the scene are always well thought out and dramatic and the bad guys are always the badest of the bad.
In House Rule Marit and Ethan's relationship is just getting back on course after his time away and they are on the brink of settling matters with the DP(the head Vampires) who they have decided to leave. Dorian upon hearing that they no longer want to be part of their secret Vampire club takes a fit and declaimers war on Carington House and its Vampires. Meanwhile there is a psycho killer loose on the streets of Chicago and he or she is targeting Vampires and arranging their bodies and leaving them to be found in the oddest and hardest to get in places, is the killer among them and one of their own? or is McKetrick the Vampire Hunter up to his old tricks again? Merit is on the case and she is sure to figure it all out that is right after she kills Lindsy Ethan's old flame she followed her to a meet with Jonah, her RP partner, and now Ethan thinks she is having an affair! all so that ho can get her hands in to Ethan. There is never a dull moment in the life of the new Carington House Sentinel.
Chloe Neill is a wonderful writer who makes you hold on to her every word as you read her books. I have read every book in this series and there are to be only 3 more left and I for one will be sad to see Merits story end but glad because I go to be one of the people who got to share in her journey.

In a city full of vampires, trouble never sleeps.
At the tender age of 27, Merit became a sword-wielding vampire. Since then, she’s become the protector of her House, watched Chicago nearly burn to the ground, and seen her Master fall and rise. Now she’ll see her mettle—and her metal —tested like never before.
It started with two . . . Two rogues vanishing without a trace. Someone is targeting Chicago’s vampires, and anyone could be next. With their house in peril, Merit and her Master, the centuries old Ethan Sullivan, must race to stop the disappearances. But as they untangle a web of secret alliances and ancient evils, they realize their foe is more familiar, and more powerful, than they could have ever imagined
