I got to interview the incredible talented author of The Witch, the Wolf and the Vampire. A.K. Michaels is an incredible author with a blessed and vivid imagination that captures her audience and steals their attention right from the first.
The Witch, the Wolf and the Vampire is a world of carnal pleasures, danger and magical delight. A place where everyone is safe and no one will ever want to leave. Peri is running from a dangerous past of witches and blood sacrifice, until she finds home, love and safety with a wolf and a vampire. Can someone really find a soul mate in two people?

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what made you delve into the world of fiction?
I'm happily married - for many years - and have three lovely children who we adore. I spent many years of my life working in the banking industry until we moved abroad to live in Cyprus - where I again worked in finance. I always had stories in my head but never did anything about them until we returned to Scotland and decided I was gonna try - I had to get all those words and stories out of my head lol. So I bought a second hand laptop, sat down and started typing.
I had no idea what to expect, if I even could write a book, but soon I was onto book 3 and kept on going. It was like a dam had burst and I couldn't stop - scary at the time but now I absolutely love writing. Love it love it love it!
Q: Can you please tell us a little about your book The Witch, the Wolf and the Vampire and what inspired you write it?
The story for Witch,Wolf, Vamp, came to me when I was writing one of my Defender's Blood series and at first it was Peri, the Witch, that came into my head. I was going to add her into the Defender's book but for some reason didn't, I stopped and let my thoughts go and soon I had Gabe, the Wolf, and Josef, the Vampire's characters in there too. I soon realised it was a completely different story so started to write it at the same time.
Each day I never knew which book I would be working on - Defender's or Witch,Wolf,Vamp - until I sat down at the laptop and then my fingers would decide. I ended up doing that for the entire book - some days working on one then the next the other.
Q: Can you tell us about your writing process? Which comes first? The character's story or the idea for the novel?
A bit of both really, the first part for WWV was me thinking on the character of Peri, then Gabe and Josef - then the idea for a new book centered around those three ran through my head. I tweaked and thought before I started to write it - which took me away from the other book I was writing at the time. I'm so glad it did as I love those three!
I'm not a planner regarding my writing - I've got things in my head and I let them ferment there until my fingers itch to get the words out and then I start typing. Sometimes I am surprised at what my fingers type and think - 'hey that's not the way I expected that to do' - but it's so enjoyable that I think I'll be doing it for the rest of my life.
Q: You brought a lot of interesting people together in The Witch, the Wolf and the Vampire, did you think when writing it that all those elements might clash?
Not really, I wanted it to be different than the usual one and one and if there were gonna be three then they definitely had to have different personalities and traits to make it work. I wanted to have more than the usual strong Vamp and his mate - and Gabe is such a cheeky Wolf - don't you think?
Defiantly!
Q: I loved so many parts of this story! Which part was your favourite to write?
Oh I'm not sure if I can say - is this an over 18's site? I loved many parts but I really loved Peri's 'first time' - I wanted to try and tell how it was for her as she hadn't even kissed anyone before she met the guys. In some ways Peri is childlike, naive, but a survivor too and I hope folks get that. For once she can feel safe - something she has never had in her life. She gets all these feelings and sensations that are totally and utterly alien to her and she feels kinda scared bout them too but her guys treat her with the utmost respect - or I hope that's how it comes across.
NOPE! and tastfully said. I think you did a wonderful job on that scene! I found Peri's first time to be the most special out of all of the scenes in the book.
Q: If you could choose to live the life of one of the characters from your story who would it be?
Peri!! Without a doubt - obviously her past was horrendous but oh my gosh - to have those two wanting me? Yup definitely Peri!
Q: Do you have any strange writing habits (like standing on your head or writing in the shower)?
I think I'm just generally strange lol. I can actually sit and think about a storyline and before I know it the entire book - all of it - is in my head. Everything from characters, traits, what's going to happen - everything - in fact usually when I start book 1 my head already has 1,2 and 3 in there just waiting to be typed. My OH keeps asking where it all comes from and I just shrug and say 'my head' - which he doesn't quite get lol.
Q: What books/authors have influenced your life?
I have read Stephen King since long before he was famous - always loved the kinda weird stuff. Dean Koontz too - love a lot of his work and J D Robb - I adore her In Death series of books. Have read them all bar the last one - don't want to read it just now and not have one to 'go to' in an emergency! I mean who the heck wouldn't love a Roarke in their lives!
Q: What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?
Oh yes!!! The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire, book 2, is almost ready for release - so watch for that guys. We find out what happens when those that hunt Peri finally catch up with her - loved writing that scene!
Plus got book 3 in the Sabrina's Vampire series almost ready for release too - title is Hunted - so you can guess what's happening in that - someone is hunting Sabrina and it ain't a friend!
I've also got - in my head - three other works - one will be a short novella to give backstory to two characters in Defender's Blood - Vlad and Irina - which has been requested, so I'll do that.
Then there's another series Supernatural Enforcement Bureau - which came about from something my editor asked me to add in WWV1 - can't wait to start that.
Then there's another - a post apocalyptic type work which I'm still perusing in my brain.
There's not enough hours in the day for me to get done what I want to!
