WW4BB & BBT Present: A Spotlight & Review on Dragon Maid by Ann Gimpel

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 12:30:00 am

Dragon Maid
Dragon Lore, Book II
Ann Gimpel

Publisher: Taliesin Publishing
Release Date: 1/2/14
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Dragons have always fascinated me. Creatures fresh out of legend, they tempt the soul to stretch its wings. This book is dedicated to Kheladin and Tarika, two wonderful dragons who live in my imagination and who were generous enough to grace the pages of my books.

*Warning: Book Contains Sexual Content*

Book Description

Jonathan Shea is a software engineer. When pressed, he admits to being a closet witch, but he’s always been a shade ambivalent about his magic—until a dragon shows up in Inverness, and then all bets are off. Along with others in his coven, Jonathan is both charmed and captivated by the creature fresh out of legend.

Britta is a dragon shifter. Dragged from the Middle Ages by the Celtic gods, she and her dragon prepare for a battle to save Earth. The first human she lays eyes on in modern times is Jonathan. There’s something about him. She can’t quite pinpoint it, but he has way more magic than any witch she’s ever come across before. Aside from magic, Jonathan is drop dead gorgeous. For the first time ever, Britta questions the wisdom of remaining a maid.

Surrounded by dragon shifters, Celtic gods, Selkies, and a heaping portion of magic, Jonathan comes into his own fast. Good thing, too, because fell creatures have targeted him, Britta, and the dragons. In the midst of chaos, he finds passion so poignant and love so heartbreakingly tender, it will change his life forever.

My Review

Dragon Maid by Ann Gimpel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

great book! Anne is a wonderful author and her stories are so full of adventure and frank romance. I really enjoyed this story, and although I didn't like it quite as much as the first one it did have its own uniqueness and its own heartstopping moments.

Jonathan Shea has always felt out of step, his father was pretty much loonie and when it comes to magic and the coven he has always been unsure of himself. Jonathan works as a software engineer designing fantasy games. Then the dragon shifter walked into his life and all those fantasy things that he put into games started to become his life! With the help of his coven along with Lachlan and his mate Maggie, they are going to help the new and beautiful creature of legend that has fallen into his lap.

Britta is not only a dragon shifter she is a countess! Plucked from the past by the Celtic Gods themselves to help with the war against The Morrigan and the dark dragons, Britta and her dragon prepare for a battle to save Earth. When first laying eyes on Jonathan she starts to question the wisdom of her centuries of staying a maid, for he is a fine and handsome man, and there is something about him that makes her crave his touch. He also has great power inside, to great of a power for merely just being a witch.

Surrounded by dragon shifters, Celtic gods, Selkies, and a heaping portion of magic, Jonathan learns new and amazing things about himself. he taps into a well of power he never knew he had and just in time too, because the darkness is coming for them all, and no one will be spared its wrath. In the midst of chaos, Jonathan finds passion and love so heartbreakingly tender, it will all change his life forever.

great story! I really like the new characters britta and her dragon were fisty and very straight forward...lol...I liked that about them.Ann Gimpel is a wonderful Writer full of passion and adventure. I love the imagination and heart that she brings to every story.

Excerpt:

…Jonathan tried not to stare, but it was a losing battle. The woman—no, the dragon shifter—was the most perfect, the most alluring, creature he’d ever laid eyes on. Tall, with high, rounded breasts, a slender waist, and curvy hips, she looked like a goddess. Who knew? Maybe she was. The Celts had had many deities. He fumbled with his rucksack, pulled out a turkey sandwich on rye bread, and handed it to her.
She yanked the wrappings aside, dropped them onto the floor, and stuffed food into her mouth, chewing quickly. “Ye said there were two of these meat and bread things.” Britta surveyed him, golden eyes alight with interest.
“Yes, I did. If I give you both, I’ll be hungry.”
She shrugged. “Not my problem. Also, I requested mead.”
Jonathan’s lips twitched. He corralled the smile that wanted out. Britta was an imperious bitch, yet there was something so undeniably appealing about her straightforward nature, it was impossible to feel offended. “No mead. At least I don’t have any. We could ask the other witches, or if we found you some clothes, we could go into the city and buy a proper meal, and as much to drink as you wanted.”
She cocked her head to one side and popped the last bite of sandwich into her mouth. “I can go as I am. Shall we walk or use magic, witch?”
“Um, no, you can’t. You’d be arrested.”
She tilted her chin up. “Why? I can see where I might freeze to death, but who would give a jolly fuck whether I’m dressed or not?”
Before he could craft an explanation, Kheladin stalked over, trailed by three female witches stroking the scales on his lower body. “Lachlan kept a clothes chest against the far wall.” He pointed with a talon. “I am certain some of his shirts and tights would work, though there’s little to be done by way of shoes.”
Her gaze landed on a particularly large heap of gold jewelry and coins. “I could borrow a bit of money from your hoard, just a coin or two, and—”
Kheladin’s eyes whirled faster, glittering dangerously. “I doona think so.”
“Well then,” Britta turned a brilliant smile on Jonathan and tapped his chest with her index finger, “he can buy me what I need.” Magic shimmered around her. “Come close, witch. We are leaving.”
Kheladin stumped to Britta’s side. The counter spell he summoned to dampen her power sparkled; strands wrapped around her. Her lips curled in fury, and she raised her hands to call magic of her own. “Not so fast,” Kheladin snapped. “First, ye’ve forgotten ye need clothes. Second, Tarika was in an all-fired hurry to find me. Such a big hurry, ye went without food or rest. Why?”
Britta shook her head so hard her hair danced about her body. She swept the heels of her hands down her cheeks, distorting her perfect features. “Och aye, whatever is wrong with me? Nay, I know the answer. The Morrigan is furious because Lachlan triumphed over the black and red wyverns, and their dragon shifter mages.”
“Good the old battle crow even noticed,” Kheladin growled and breathed a fiery gout of flames.
“She did more than notice. She cast a spell to disrupt our memories. If ye wouldna have reminded me… Hell, ’tis surprised I am we got here at all. The Celtic gods, Gwydion and Arawn,
sent us to warn you and Lachlan. They told us their magic would trump hers, but not forever.” One corner of her mouth turned down. “’Twould appear I just ran up against forever. Or mayhap their magic got subverted by your wards.”
“What impact has the Morrigan’s mischief had on the rest of our kind?”
“Those in Fire Mountain are safe so long as they remain there. The casting only traps them when they set foot on Earth.”
“Did the Celts try to neutralize it?”
She cast a look Kheladin’s way that said he should ask something worth her time answering. Johnathan watched the exchange, chest tight with excitement, feeling he’d fallen into one of the old tales where heroes and heroines walked amongst humans.
“All right. Let me try again.” Kheladin sounded exasperated. “Did the Morrigan wake the black wyvern’s mage, Rhukon?”
“’Twas the first thing she did.”
“So all our effort was for naught.” The dragon clanked his jaws together. “I must alert Lachlan. Where did the Celts find you?”
Britta rolled her eyes. “Not in Fire Mountain, though I admit Tarika and I retreated there after Rhukon, Connor, and their dragons teamed with the Morrigan, and things werena looking good. Nay, the Celts plucked us out of the sixteen hundreds, told us enough about what the future held to alarm us, and sent us on our way. I am far from certain, but it seems they might be gathering reinforcements beyond Tarika and me, so ye and Lachlan willna have to fight alone.”
Kheladin inclined his head. “Thank you for coming.”
A warm smile lit her face. It softened her features and made her look barely more than a girl. Jonathan’s cock stiffened where it pressed against his jeans. Breath caught in his throat, and he fought against touching her, running his hands down her golden skin. He drew magic around himself to mask his lust, make it unobtrusive, but she noticed anyway.
Britta turned an appraising glance his way. “Aye, ye’d do well to hide your rut from me.”
Embarrassed at being caught out but curious, too, he asked, “Why?”
She tossed her head at Kheladin. “Tell him, dragon. Mayhap he’ll believe it if he hears it from another, ahem, male.” Her last word dripped sarcasm.
Kheladin blew so much steam he looked like an old-fashioned train. Jonathan bristled. Worse, his cock didn’t seem to be in the mood for retreat. He tried for dignity. “Look. If it’s all the same to you, I’d just as soon move on. I withdraw my question.”
“Nay.” Kheladin got his mirth under control. “Many have tried to mate with Tarika—and Britta too. I believe they fancy themselves reincarnations of Artemis. ’Tis why they bonded one to the other.”
Jonathan’s brows crawled up his forehead. “The virgin huntress?”
“Good ye know your mythology.” Kheladin clanged his jaws shut for the second time.
“I thought you were Celtic,” Jonathan sputtered. “Artemis was Greek.”
Kheladin bathed him in smoke until he bent over coughing. “I picked a deity ye might recognize, witch. Most of our goddesses have fallen out of human memory. How Britta is isna entirely her fault, though.”
She put her hands on her hips and glared. Breasts peeked through a curtain of hair. “I’m not sure whether to thank you or let Tarika out to throttle you. How would I have had the time to either find a mate or attend to him once found?”
“Lachlan dinna have a wife, either.” Kheladin’s tone was mild.
“Aye, but he fucked enough women to make up for it.” Britta narrowed her eyes. “As I recall, there was a string of housekeepers in addition to a bevy of local maids.”
“He was laird of Clan Moncrieffe. ’Twas natural enough maids would wish to be his lady.” Kheladin defended his shifter bond mate.
Jonathan felt as if he’d wandered in at the midpoint of a very old argument. He cleared his throat. “Was there a specific reason neither dragon shifter wed?”
Britta snorted. “Ye know nothing of what it takes to become a dragon shifter. I studied long—as did Lachlan—and forsook much. A man would have just gotten in my way, as would bairns. I could have made certain I dinna conceive, but what man doesna wish heirs?”
Kheladin leaned closer to Jonathan. “Her da was a powerful mage and laird of Cumbria. Many a swain wished to share her bed—and her dowry.”
“Men! Cretins, the lot of them!” Britta threw a hand in the air, spun, and strode toward where Kheladin had indicated Lachlan’s clothing chest was.
Jonathan cleared his throat and sent a thought to Kheladin since he didn’t want to be the butt of Britta’s scorn. “Temperamental, isn’t she?”
“Ye doona know the half of it, laddie. Yet she is courageous—and compassionate. ’Twasn’t accidental the gods picked her to locate us.”
“Guess I’ll wait until she’s dressed and then take her into Inverness. We can find more clothes, some shoes, and a meal.”
“Aye, and then ye must return here. While ye’re gone, I’ll raise Lachlan.”

About the Author

Ann Gimpel is a mountaineer at heart. Recently retired from a long career as a psychologist, she remembers many hours at her desk where her body may have been stuck inside four walls, but her soul was planning yet one more trip to the backcountry. Around the turn of the last century (that would be 2000, not 1900!), she managed to finagle moving to the Eastern Sierra, a mecca for those in love with the mountains. It was during long backcountry treks that Ann’s writing

evolved. Unlike some who see the backcountry as an excuse to drag friends and relatives along, Ann prefers her solitude. Stories always ran around in her head on those journeys, sometimes as a hedge against abject terror when challenging conditions made her fear for her life, sometimes for company. Eventually, she returned from a trip and sat down at the computer. Three months later, a five hundred page novel emerged. Oh, it wasn’t very good, but it was a beginning. And, she learned a lot between writing that novel and its sequel.

Around that time, a friend of hers suggested she try her hand at short stories. It didn’t take long before that first story found its way into print and they’ve been accepted pretty regularly since then. One of Ann’s passions has always been ecology, so her tales often have a green twist.

In addition to writing, Ann enjoys wilderness photography. She lugs pounds of camera equipment in her backpack to distant locales every year. A standing joke is that over ten percent of her pack weight is camera gear which means someone else has to carry the food! That someone is her husband. They’ve shared a life together for a very long time. Children, grandchildren and three wolf hybrids round out their family.

The Shadow Reader Trilogy Swag-For-Brag Giveaway Blast

December 31, 2013 was the best New Year’s Eve I’ve had in a long time. The Sharpest Blade, the third book in my Shadow Reader series, hit the shelves. The Shadow Reader books follow McKenzie Lewis, a human who can not only see the fae, but she can track them when they fissure (or teleport) from place to place. That little talent of hers has put her in the middle of a fae civil war, a war that finally comes to a conclusion in The Sharpest Blade.

Readers have waited a long time for this book. I’m so grateful for their patience, and for all their support these last few years. The reception McKenzie has received has been awesome, and I’ve met so many wonderful readers since The Shadow Reader was published. Thank you all for sharing McKenzie’s adventures with me, and I hope 2014 brings you many hundreds of fabulous and kickass reads.

About Sandy Williams

Sandy Williams author picSandy Williams has lived and breathed books all her life. When she was a teen, she was always the first to finish her class assignments so that she could read as much as possible before the bell rang. Her grades didn't suffer (much), and she was able to enroll in Texas A&M University. She didn't sneak in novels there, but every other line of her college lecture notes are filled with snippets of stories. After she graduated, she decided to turn those snippets into books.

Sandy is the author of The Shadow Reader novels, an urban fantasy romance series about a human who can both see and track the fae. When Sandy isn't writing, she's taking care of her twin boys, who also debuted in 2011. They keep her busy, but she's occasionally able to sneak in time to read books by her favorite authors, and she still enjoys playing EuroGames like Dominion, 7 Wonders, and Agricola.

The Shadow Reader Trilogy

The Shadow Reader

There can only be one allegiance. It’s her time to choose.
Some humans can see the fae. McKenzie Lewis can track them, reading the shadows they leave behind. But some shadows lead to danger. Others lead to lies.
A Houston college student trying to finish her degree, McKenzie has been working for the fae king for years, tracking vicious rebels who would claim the Realm. Her job isn’t her only secret. For just as long, she’s been in love with Kyol, the king’s sword-master—and relationships between humans and fae are forbidden.
But any hope for a normal life is shattered when she’s captured by Aren, the fierce and uncompromising rebel leader. He teaches her the forbidden fae language and tells her dark truths about the Court, all to persuade her to turn against the king. Time is running out, and as the fight starts to claim human lives, McKenzie has no choice but to decide once and for all whom to trust and where she ultimately stands in the face of a cataclysmic civil war.

The Shattered Dark
A love declared. A war waged. A future endangered.
McKenzie Lewis has a gift. It allows her access to a world few have seen, and even fewer can comprehend. It’s her secret. And it exists in the shadows…
McKenzie was a normal college student, save for one little twist: she’s a shadow reader, someone who can both see the fae and track their movements between our world and the Realm. It’s a gift for which she has been called insane, one for which she has risked family and friends—and one that has now plunged her into a brutal civil war among the fae.
With the reign of the king and his vicious general at an end, McKenzie hoped to live a more normal life while exploring her new relationship with Aren, the rebel fae who has captured her heart. But when her best friend, Paige, disappears McKenzie knows her wish is, for now, just a dream. McKenzie is the only one who can rescue her friend, but if she’s not careful, her decisions could cost the lives of everyone she’s tried so hard to save.

The Sharpest Blade
Penguin | Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Book Depository | B-A-M | IndieBound | Powell's
Torn between two worlds. Torn between two lives.
McKenzie Lewis’s ability to read the shadows has put her—and …those she loves—in harm’s way again and again. The violence must end, but will the cost of peace be more devastating than anyone ever imagined?
After ten years of turmoil, the life McKenzie has always longed for may finally be within her grasp. No one is swinging a sword at her head or asking her to track the fae, and she finally has a regular—albeit boring—job. But when a ruthless enemy strikes against her friends, McKenzie abandons her attempt at normalcy and rushes back to the Realm.
With the fae she loves and the fae she’s tied to pulling her in different directions, McKenzie must uncover the truth behind the war and accept the painful sacrifices that must be made to end it. Armed with dangerous secrets and with powerful allies at her side, her actions will either rip the Realm apart—or save it.

My Review

The Mermaid's Sanctuary by Charlie Daye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great Book! I loved the imagination and creativity that went into this story, Charlie Daye is an wonderful writer with a beautiful and creative way of capturing your imagination and letting you fall in love with fairytales all over again.

Keagan is a Hunter and has always been fine with being the single and taking care of his family and the realms, that is he was until a certain mermaid literally landed in his arms.

Princess Seah is the most stubborn and rebellious of King Caspian children, and when she leaves the safety of the castle is set upon by king Tahoe enemies of her fathers kingdom. fearing for her life Seah swims for shore hoping to find help and lands in the arms of Hunter Keagan and they are both lost.

With it not safe for her to return Seah must stay with the Hunters until it is safe to return home, Keagan finds himself not wanting her to go, can he ask her to give up her underwater life? for a life on land with him?

such a romantic and fairytale story! I couldn't put it down! I was hooked from the first page...lol...loved all the characters especially the twins! they were soooo adorable!

TBR today!

Excerpt

It was a bright sunny day and Keagan was lying back on his elbows staring out at the ocean. The weather was warm with very little breeze and was the perfect day to sit on the beach and celebrate. The Raydon family had gathered to celebrate Nikkita and Raylia’s first birthday and since their mother, Oralia, insisted that they not make a big deal out of it the family decided on having a small family bar-be-que on the beach.
Nikkita and Raylia were the first girls born to the Raydon clan and the first Hunters born with hair color other than white. They looked very much like their mother which drove their father, Niko, insane. He had already equipped the house with motion sensors and a state of the art security system for when they became old enough to date. The whole thing became a giant joke amongst the family considering it would be years before that happened.
Keagan loved his nieces and spent any free time he had with them. He even offered to babysit more often then not just so he could spend time with them. Oralia often lectured him about going out with his other brothers, Markus and Kai, so that he’d be able to find a nice woman to settle down with and have his own kids but for now Keagan was content with the way things were.
Keagan was startled out of his thoughts when he was attacked by a couple of four year old monsters. “Gotcha Uncle Keagan,” they yelled in unison.
Keagan laughed and rolled with Alexander and Xavier tucked in his arms. “You two are getting pretty good at sneaking up on people,” he said complimenting them.
Alexander and Xavier were twin boys that belonged to one of Keagan’s other brothers, Lucian and his wife Ella who was now in her second pregnancy with baby number three as it were. The boys had spent the last year in Hunter’s training, which was the custom for all Hunter males. Schooling began at three for boys and if the girls wanted to go to school for training their training began at five. To date, there were very few Hunter females in training.
“Yep,” Xander said, “we’re going to be great Hunters just like you and all the men in our family.”
“That’s right,” Xavier continued, “Then we’ll be saving all the pretty girls!”
Keagan couldn’t contain his laughter, “Is that what you think we do Xavier? Save pretty girls?”
“Yep, just look at Aunt Oralia. Uncle Niko saved her!” Xavier pointed out.
Keagan laughed. “Hey Niko! Did you know that our sole purpose as Hunters was to save pretty girls like Oralia?”
Niko laughed and hugged Oralia to his side, “Works for me!”
Everyone laughed. Keagan shook his head, “Food ready yet?”
“It’ll be done in a minute,” Lucian said, “best get your plate ready.”
After they ate, Oralia, Ella and Aminay sat around and played with the children while Sebastien, Markus, Keagan, Niko, Lucian and Kai played a three on three game of volleyball.
Aminay stood and picked up Nikkita, “Let’s take the kids in the water.”
Oralia stood up and grabbed Raylia, “You don’t think it’ll be too cold for them?”
Aminay shook her head, “No, it should be fine. Sebastien and I used to bring the boys here all the time when they were younger. It never seemed to bother them.”
“Nothing seems to bother them,” Ella giggled.
“Well, except for us,” Oralia said grinning.
Aminay smiled and called over her shoulder to the men, “We’re going in the water for a bit.”
All the men stopped and turned to look at Aminay as if she spoken a foreign language. “By yourself?” Sebastien asked.
“No dearest, Ella and Oralia will be with me,” she said teasingly.
Sebastien’s mouth formed a grim line, “Perhaps we should come with you.”
“Don’t be ridiculous Sebastien! I’m sure the three of us are more than capable of handling my grandchildren without your assistance,” she scolded.
“If you need anything just call us Mother, “Niko said trying to soothe the situation.
“At least someone remembered that I raised five boys already,” she grumbled under her breath. Ella and Oralia laughed.
Taking Alexander and Xavier by the hands, all three women waded into the ocean. They’d only been in a few minutes when Nikkita started wailing as if someone had placed her in a vat of boiling water. Niko immediately stopped what he was doing and ran into the water taking Nikkita from his mother, “There, there princess daddy’s here.” And just like that she was quiet.
“How is it that you’re the only one that can do that with her?” Aminay asked bewildered.
Niko grinned, “She’s daddy’s girl.”
Niko waded further into the water and Nikkita started whimpering again. Niko wrapped his arms around her little body and said, “It’s alright Nikki, daddy won’t let you fall.” Nikki whimpered once more before resting her head on Niko’s shoulder where she stayed completely content.
Lucian followed Niko into the water and picked up Xander on the way tossing him up into the air and catching him. Xander squealed in delight, “Again daddy again!”
“Lucian Raydon, don’t you drop him!” Ella warned.
Xavier looked up at Markus as he approached and lifted his little arms, “Uncle Markus!”
Markus swept Xavier up into his arms and tossed him high up into the air and chuckled when Ella started screaming bloody murder. After a few minutes, Markus, Lucian, Keagan and Kai began tossing the boys back and forth between them. Rather than torturing herself, Ella turned her back on them and started talking to Oralia and Aminay.
Sebastien approached Oralia and relieved her of Raylia kissing her on the cheek, “How’s grandpa’s girl?” Raylia simply laughed in response.
With the men entertaining the children, Oralia turned to Ella, “So… when do you find out what you’re having?”
Ella rubbed her barely there baby bump, “We still have a couple weeks yet.”
“What are you hoping for?” Oralia asked.
“Honestly, I’d love a girl but I’d be happy with another boy. I know Lucian wouldn’t mind another boy,” she said smiling.
Aminay grinned, “I’m sure he wouldn’t but it’s about time we start leveling out the playing field. There is way too much testosterone in this family. Not that I’d trade away any of them but more females would be nice.”
“Well, I can tell you that Niko’s hoping for a boy next time around,” Oralia said.
“Are you going to start trying again soon?” Ella asked.
“Heavens no!” Oralia said horrified.
Both Ella and Aminay laughed.
“Maybe when the girls are little older like out of diapers older,” Oralia admitted.
“What’s happening with diapers?” Niko asked interrupting their conversation.
“Ella asked when I’d be ready to try for more kids and I told her when the girls are out of diapers,” Oralia replied.
Niko grinned and kissed her shoulder, “At least we can practice till then.”
“You’re horrible!” Oralia said teasingly.
“Yes but you love me!”
Oralia smiled, “That I do.”
A sharp whistle drew the group’s attention to Sebastien. “Everyone out of the water now!” he yelled. “We’ve got incoming!”
It took only seconds for the ocean to empty. Niko stood with Nikki still wrapped in one arm while the other was protectively encasing Oralia’s waist. Ella stood behind Lucian with her hands resting on his waist wanting to protect her belly. Sebastien held Raylia with one arm and had a hold of Aminay’s hand with the other keeping her slightly to the rear of him. Kai flanked Lucian holding Xavier while Markus stood on the other side of Oralia holding Alexander. Keagan stood out in front of everyone with his arms crossed. They all stared out at the ocean as whatever was jumping in and out of the water came straight for them.

Claimed by a Demon King

Felicity Heaton

The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.

Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.

As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realisations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?

BLURB

One lost love.
                  One lost best friend.
                                           One hot soul reaper.

Straight out of the psyche ward, Cora just wants her life to be normal. She doesn’t want to see souls or the reapers collecting them. The love of her life, the guy she’s loved from a distance for years, has moved away without saying goodbye. So yes, she’s nursing a serious heartbreak. It’s no wonder love is the last thing on her mind when Echo storms into her life.

The chemistry between them is mind-blowing. The connection defies logic. It doesn’t help that Echo is the poster boy for everything she hates in a guy—hot, beautiful, and cocky. A general pain-in-the-butt. Being around him makes her feel more alive than she’s ever felt before. But more important, the souls leave her alone when he is around.

Echo is perfect for her. Echo might even be her soul-mate. There is only one problem. Echo is a freaking soul reaper. A Grimnir. The very beings she wants out of her life. Maybe normal is overrated because Cora wants it all. Answers. Love. A life. You see, once you fall for a Grimnir, your life will never be the same again.
