WW4BB Presents: Splintered by A.G. Howard

Posted by Amanda Masters on 2:15:00 pm

This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

WW4BB Presents: Fragments by Dan Wells is HERE book 2 in the Partials Series

Fragments by Dan Wells
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Wow this book was really long! I really can't say it was a bad book because it did have parts that griped me and didn't let go, but I can't say it was a great book because there were parts I had to force myself through. I was so excited for this book as the first one was so phenomenal! but this one was just really long! The ending was a total Cliff hanger though and now I so will have to read the next one and hope it is better.

This book was split in two parts on one side we have kira, Samm, Ada and Heron out in search of a cure to save both the partial and the human races. Kira believes that it has to be in the files somewhere at one of the ParaGen offices.

On the other side is Marcus who is caught in the middle of war between the humans that Kira left behind and Dr. Morgan's Partial Army, who happens to be looking for Kira and is looking for the cure for the Partial exasperation date. Will Kira get back in time to save her town? or will she be the reason they all die?

Dan Wells is a great writer and never fails to impress me with the details that he puts into world he creates. I could see it all as I was reading it and it was beautiful in its own horrific way.

Kira Walker has found the cure for RM, but the battle for the survival of humans and Partials is just beginning. Kira has left East Meadow in a desperate search for clues to who she is. That the Partials themselves hold the cure for RM in their blood cannot be a coincidence--it must be part of a larger plan, a plan that involves Kira, a plan that could save both races. Her companions are Afa Demoux, an unhinged drifter and former employee of ParaGen, and Samm and Heron, the Partials who betrayed her and saved her life, the only ones who know her secret. But can she trust them?

Meanwhile, back on Long Island, what's left of humanity is gearing up for war with the Partials, and Marcus knows his only hope is to delay them until Kira returns. But Kira's journey will take her deep into the overgrown wasteland of postapocalyptic America, and Kira and Marcus both will discover that their greatest enemy may be one they didn't even know existed.

The second installment in the pulse-pounding Partials saga is the story of the eleventh hour of humanity's time on Earth, a journey deep into places unknown to discover the means--and even more important, a reason--for our survival.

WW4BB Presents: Edge of Dawn by Lara Adrian is HERE!

Posted by Amanda Masters on 10:19:00 am

Twenty years after the terror of First Dawn—when mankind learned that vampires lived secretly among them—the threat of violence reigns as the two species struggle to coexist. The only group preserving the fragile harmony is the Order, an elite cadre of Breed warriors dedicated to protecting humans and vampires alike. And in this precarious world of torn loyalties and shattered trust, Mira, a fiery squad captain, finds that every fight bears an intensely personal cost.

Raised among the Order, Mira has always believed in the warrior’s code of swift—and even lethal—justice. But the one thing she desires more than the Order’s hard-won acceptance is Kellan Archer, a sexy but troubled Breed fighter. In love with him since childhood, Mira once broke through his tough exterior during an unexpected night of rapture, but the next day he mysteriously disappeared, never to return.

Kellan didn’t think he would ever see Mira again—or have to confront the truth of why he left. After abandoning the Order years ago, he now leads a band of human rebels intent on carrying out their own vigilante rule of law. Yet a high-profile kidnapping assignment brings him face-to-face with the past he sought to avoid, and the striking woman he has tried desperately to forget. And as tensions mount and the risk of bloodshed grows, Kellan and Mira must take sides—between the competing missions that dominate their lives, and the electrifying passion that claims their hearts.

WW4BB Presents: Warm Bodies Series by Isaac Marion

Posted by Amanda Masters on 9:02:00 pm

New York is a bayou. New Orleans is a reef. The entire country has been devastated by natural disasters and governmental collapse, and on top of everything else there is the annoying problem of zombies trying to devour you at every turn. But sixteen-year-old Nora and her younger brother Addis are about to discover the most frightening thing yet: being abandoned in this horrific world by their own parents.

Left with only a bag of clothes and a first-aid kit, Nora and Addis begin a harrowing journey to connect with anyone who isn't looking to rob them or eat them. A wounded man wrecks a meal of green beans and French fries at the top of the Space Needle in Seattle. An attempt to get a good night’s sleep in a fortified motel is ruined by an undead face staring at them through the window. And they just can’t seem to shake someone – something – that’s been following them everywhere they go….

Meanwhile, a girl named Julie is traveling toward the city in an SUV with her parents. She is only twelve, but has already seen friends die and her school burn. She has watched her father become nearly as cold and remorseless as the Dead. All she wants is someplace to call home, even if it never really will be.

And somewhere nearby, a tall man awakens in the woods, unsure of exactly where he is, or even who he is. As he struggles to remember details of his life, a single consonant comes to him: R. He is…a name that begins with R….

Have you missed the sweet sound of R's voice? Have you wondered how he feels about the holiday season? Is he a post-apocalyptic Santa or Scrooge? Did he cut back on his murder rates in the spirit of Christmas?

I wrote a short story for City Arts magazine about R's first winter as a walking corpse. It's significantly less heartwarming than most holiday specials.

A zombie who yearns for a better life ends up falling in love—with a human—in this astonishingly original debut novel.

R is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he has dreams. He doesn’t enjoy killing people; he enjoys riding escalators and listening to Frank Sinatra. He is a little different from his fellow Dead

R is having a no-life crisis-he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he'd rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cozy 747 he calls home, or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilization. And then he meets a girl.

First as his captive, then his reluctant house guest, Julie is a blast of living color in R's gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn't want to eat this girl-although she looks delicious-he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can't imagine, and their hopeless world won't change without a fight.

Not just another zombie novel, Warm Bodies is funny, scary, and deeply moving

'The Vampire Diaries' Theory: Is Silas a Doppelganger?

'The Vampire Diaries' Theory: Is Silas a Doppelganger?

Fans finally got their first look at the notorious Silas on this week's emotional Vampire Diaries, only he looked an awful lot like Professor Shane.

Recap: When Tragedy Strikes>>

After awaking from his desiccated state and killing Jeremy Gilbert, Silas left his iron mask behind, meaning he could look like anyone. Throughout the episode Bonnie was being guided by a seemingly healed Professor Shane who was encouraging her to help Silas tear down the wall between the real world and the Other Side, where all dead supernatural beings have gone.

In the final moments, we saw Professor Shane in Mystic Falls with Bonnie, prodding her to complete the rituals by killing 12 more innocent people, but at the same time, the real Professor Shane, still badly injured, was on the island with Rebekah.

In other words, Bonnie's Shane is actually Silas. There are several possible explanations for why Silas looks like Shane. Maybe he's simply a shapeshifter and can assume any identity he wants, much like the First from the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Or he has an ability to manipulate people's minds so that he can make Bonnie think he looks like Shane, but he really doesn't (something we don't know since Silas/Shane has yet to interact with anyone else).  Or maybe there's something bigger at play. And maybe it has to do with doppelgangers.

Why Shane Is a Silas Doppelganger

The sudden return of Katherine Pierce to steal the Cure instantly reminded viewers of the concept of a doppelganger. The Petrova line comes from Tatia, a girl whose blood was used in Esther's spell to create the Original Vampires. And every 500 years, a new doppelganger is born into that same bloodline, and the doppelganger is a powerful supernatural being whose blood is useful in major rituals.

But there's no evidence that this is the only doppelganger. In fact, knowing that a doppelganger line was created when a witch made the Original Vampires only makes it more likely that a doppelganger line was also created when Silas became the very first vampire and immortal.

Additionally, we learned from Hunter Vaughn that Katherine was working with Tyler's werewolf pal Hayley and that she told her about Silas and the Cure. But we also know Hayley was working for Professor Shane. So it's not a huge leap to assume that Shane and Katherine may have been in cahoots and that there's a connection between Silas and the Petrova doppelganger.

The most reasonable conclusion I can think of is not that Silas is simply a shapeshifter, but that he may be an original doppelganger and Professor Shane is the latest incarnation of his line.

What do you think? Is Silas just a shapeshifter who chooses to look like Shane to gain Bonnie's trust, or is he another doppelganger?

Hopefully these and more questions will be answered when The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, March 14 at 8pm on the CW.

WW4BB Presents: The Vampire Diaries' Spinoff 'The Originals' Takes Shape

'The Vampire Diaries' Spinoff 'The Originals' Takes Shape

The three remaining Original siblings will all be headed to New Orleans for the April 25 episode of The Vampire Diaries. This episode will serve as a back door pilot for the potential new series, The Originals.

Claire Holt (Rebekah) was the last of the actors to sign on for the new series that would air this fall on The CW if picked up.

As Rebekah said to her siblings Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) in The Vampire Diaries episode, "Ordinary People," "We stick together as one. Always and Forever."

That looks to be the case as Rebekah and Elijah will join Klaus in New Orleans. Also, heading to New Orleans will be Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), a werewolf that hasn't been seen in Mystic Falls since the hybrid massacre.

Deadline Hollywood has reported three new supernatural characters have been cast, including: Klaus' sire, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), and two witches Sophie (Daniella Pineda) and Davina (Danielle Campbell).

In addition to vampires, werewolves and witches, there will be a human involved as well, according to THR. Camille (Leah Pipes), a college psychology student, is unaware of the supernatural world around her.

Are you looking forward to the April 25 episode which introduces these characters? Will you be sad to see Klaus and Rebekah leave Mystic Falls?

With Jeremy apparently dead, Tyler gone and not expected to return, Mystic Falls would be left with only Elena, Stefan, Damon, Bonnie, and Matt. Would they be enough to keep you coming back for more Vampire Diaries?

Sound off in the comments!

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8 pm ET on The CW.

Primal Creatures by Eric Wilder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a really awesome book! It isn't really what I would normally read as I am not much into P.I stories but this one caught my attention right away as well as the fantastic cover. Eric Wilder is a superb writer I felt like I was immersed inside the story and my heart pumped right along with the characters.

My favorite Characters would have to be Jean Pierre and Landry their witty banter made me laugh even when things were at their worst for the characters and they were defiantly people who I would like as friends.

the Story starts out with a P.I. named Wyatt whose pretty much down on his luck when the case of a life time falls in his lap, 50 miles South of New Orleans on Goose Island is a Monastery the home of Tracists Monks. The Monastery also doubles as a resort and spa for Actors, Writers, etc. in the Hollywood Industry. When one of these people turn up dead and torn apart P.I Wyatt Thomas is hired to find out who did it and why, only he finds a lot more then he bargains for as the local Voodoo woman tells Wyatt that he is up against a rougarou, a Cajun werewolf, and there is no way to kill one. Are the locals just a little loopy and wild animals kill the man instead? or is there really a rougarou on Goose Island? Wyatt doesn't know but with the help of his friends he is going to find out cause no one else is going to die on his watch.

This was the third book I believe that Eric has written about the P.I Wyatt Thomas with City of Spirits and Big Easy being the other two and I admit now that I have read this one I am curious about the others and will have to get them as well....lol....fantastic book and a definite read for one and all!

Though only forty miles south of New Orleans, Goose Island may as well be in another world. Five feet out of the shallow waters of south Louisiana's wetlands, the secluded island is home of the Tracists Monastery. It's also a resort frequented by actors, screenwriters, and powerful people in the burgeoning Louisiana film industry. When a heinous death occurs on the island, a movie producer hires Wyatt Thomas, the French Quarter's favorite sleuth, to find out whom or what killed the victim. Was it wild dogs or a rougarou (Cajun werewolf) as the local voodoo woman tells Wyatt? His own life threatened, he must first survive the killer (or maybe killers), and the deadly hurricane taking direct aim at the monastery. Primal Creatures is the third novel in the Wyatt Thomas French Quarter Mystery Series that includes Big Easy, and City of Spirits.

WW4BB Presents: My Time with Lauren DeStefano!

Posted by Amanda Masters on 2:19:00 pm

Lauren DeStefano was born in New Haven, Connecticut and has never traveled far from the east coast. She received a BA in English from Albertus Magnus College recently, and has been writing since childhood. She made her authorial debut by writing on the back of children's menus at restaurants and filling up the notepads in her mom's purse. Her very first manuscript was written on a yellow legal pad with red pen, and it was about a haunted shed that ate small children.

Now that she is all grown up (for the most part), she writes fiction for young adults. Her failed career aspirations include: world's worst receptionist, coffee house barista, sympathetic tax collector, and English tutor. When she isn't writing, she's screaming obscenities at her Nintendo DS, freaking her cats out with the laser pen, or rescuing thrift store finds and reconstructing them into killer new outfits."

Lauren DeStefano on the Birth of a Bestselling Series

By Lauren DeStefano

Lauren DeStefano stepped onto the young adult lit scene in 2011 with her dystopian debut, "Wither." The book's heroine, Rhine, lives in a world where genetic experiments have left the world's populations with shortened life spans (women die at age 20, men at age 25). When she is kidnapped and forced to marry the wealthy Linden Ashby, Rhine discovers she is not alone--two others, Jenna and Cecily, are also to be married to the same man. A sequel, "Fever," followed the story of the sister-wives in 2012, and the author found herself with a New York Times bestselling series. The Chemical Garden trilogy comes to a close this month with the publication of "Sever." DeStefano reveals how she sparked the series.

The Chemical Garden trilogy began one afternoon while I was sick with the flu. I wasn’t feeling well enough to leave my bed, and so I opened my laptop and did what I often do: read through my archive of abandoned story ideas.

One such idea was for a short story about a world in which a dwindling population forces mankind to take desperate action. The few sentences I had written told of a household in which a man had taken three reluctant brides. I had outlined brief features and personality traits for the three brides, and something about a tragic death. I expected that the story would be 3,000 words at most, and that I could finish it while I was recovering.

A few days and 20,000 words later, I realized that this short story was turning into a full-on novel. And not only that, I began to suspect that one book wouldn’t be enough to tell the entire tale. So I kept writing, uncertain of where my efforts would take me, as the world grew and took shape around me.

Within a few days, I was feeling much better, but I couldn’t drag myself away from the keyboard. Every time I sat before it, more of the story appeared. I became obsessed. I called in sick to work day after day. I silenced my phone. If not for the persistent meowing, I’d have forgotten to feed my cats.

Even as I wrote the first draft, the characters and the story surprised me. Within a month’s time, I had completed the first course of the journey.

It was several months before I was contracted to write the second book ["Fever,"], and more than a year before I sat down to write the third and final installment ["Sever."]. But, while each book is its own separate piece of the journey, one thing they all have in common is the magnetic pull that held me to my keyboard. For all three books, time disappeared around me. My cats clawed the furniture for attention. A friend threatened to stage an intervention. Dust accumulated on my shelves.

That feeling of timelessness is my favorite aspect of writing. The Chemical Garden Trilogy is written and will be published in its entirety. I’ve received letters from readers who have told me that my books accompanied them on long drives and in hospital waiting rooms, and that it provided for them an escape from time, in which the world around them faded away. That is a key thing that writers and readers will always have in common. That’s what stories are for.

Lauren DeStefano is the author of The Chemical Garden Trilogy, which includes "Wither." "Fever," and "Sever." . Visit her at LaurenDeStefano.com.

I got to ask the wonderful and Talented author of the Chemical Garden series - Lauren DeStefano some questions on the 19th  it was such an honor to be chosen to ask such a talented author questions!

Lauren paints a truly vivid dystopian world were chaos rains superior and the meek are definitely not going to win any awards, that is unless they are genetically made like Rhine and Rowan...lol

I was sad to see this series end but it ended so gracefully that I was left feeling content in the end. Lauren is a true marvel and I can't wait for her to unravel her next masterpiece!

Amanda wrote: "I would like to know if you base your characters off of real people in some way or not? and if so who?

What kind of message do you hope your books send to readers?

If you could be one of the characters in your book which one would you choose?

If your own life was a subject of a book what type of fiction would it be: humor, horror, love story?"

Lauren wrote: I don't base my characters off real people; nobody in real life has ever been as interesting as a fictional character. Except, maybe, for my agent, who is easily the most fascinating person I've ever met. But I wouldn't even know how to begin to write her into a book.

One of the most surprising things about being published is that I get so many questions from readers about my ethics, my sense of right and wrong, my intentions in writing this story. I get asked what kind of message I was trying to put out there, what kind of example I mean to set. My answer to this: Does it matter what I think or how I feel? I could tell you all about my ethics and what I think of my story. But that isn't my place. I wrote this story, sure, but then I gave it to you.

I wouldn't want to be any of my characters, for sure. They don't have it easy.

And I would hope my own life is a dark comedy.

The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amazing Book! I couldn't put it down. This book series was recommended to me by a friend and I have to say I totally loved it! I had no idea who the bad guy was and all the twists and turns I totally didn't see coming! that never happens in a book I always know when certain things are going to happen but this one kept me on my toes from on min to the next.

Kate Winters doesn't know much but she does know one thing for certain, that the most important person in her life is going to die and leave her alone, and there is no way that Kate is ready to say goodbye.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld--and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests, but everyone who has ever taken the test so far has failed or been killed. will she be next?

Kate isn't sure she really believes it all anyway until one night when she sees him bring someone back from the dead. Can everything they have been telling her really be real? Can see pass the tests and win Henry's Tortured heart? She must because failure is no longer an option.

Aimee Carter is now one of my favorite Authors! I love her storytelling it is so spellbinding and magical that you become a part of every word on the page. I cant wait to read more!

EVERY GIRL WHO HAS TAKEN THE TEST HAS DIED.

NOW IT'S KATE'S TURN.

It's always been just Kate and her mom--and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear that her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld--and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy--until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride and a goddess.

IF SHE FAILS..

A vacation in Greece sounds like the perfect way for Kate Winters to spend her first sabbatical away from the Underworld...until she gets caught up in an immortal feud going back millennia. Castor and Pollux have been on the run from Zeus and Hades' wrath for centuries, hiding from the gods who hunt them. The last person they trust is Kate, the new Queen of the Underworld. Nevertheless, she is determined to help their cause. But when it comes to dealing with immortals, Kate still has a lot to learn....

Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! I soooo loved this book! I loved the battles, love intrigue, the twists and turns! ah it was all epic! I did have times when I wanted to smack all of the gods upside the head....lol....but if you are into mythology you would know that the gods are that selfish for the most part and really bad communicators! Carter says it the best in her book when she says that just because they are Gods doesn't mean they are the good guys or that they are perfect.

Kate Winters has spent the summer away and cant wait to return home to the loving husband she left, only when she returns home she finds Henry distant and withdrawn, Kate thinks that maybe he is just busy with the upcoming preparations for her coronation so she leaves it be. The day she is to be Crowned Queen of the Underworld they are attacked! Calliope is back and she has awoken Cronus King of the Titans, and she plans on taking all of the Gods down. With the help of the unlikeliest of new acquaintances Kate must do what she has to, to save her new family and the man she loves, even if it means he chooses to love someone else instead.

Just like the other two I couldn't put this down I really can't wait to see what is next for Kate and Henry!

Kate Winters has won immortality. But if she wants a life with Henry in the Underworld, she'll have to fight for it.Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.

Henry's first wife, Persephone.

For millennia we've caught only glimpses of the lives and loves of the gods and goddesses on Olympus. Now Aimée Carter pulls back the curtain on how they became the powerful, petty, loving and dangerous immortals that Kate Winters knows.

Calliope/Hera represented constancy and yet had a husband who never matched her faithfulness….

Ava/Aphrodite was the goddess of love and yet commitment was a totally different deal….

Persephone was urged to marry one man, yet longed for another….

James/Hermes loved to make trouble for others;but never knew true loss before….

Henry/Hades's solitary existence had grown too wearisome to continue. But meeting Kate Winters gave him a new hope.

WW4BB Presents: The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead is HERE! Book 3 in the Bloodlines Series

The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well what can I say I loved this book I think it is my favorite so far in the series! I love Adrian! I loved him in the Vampire Academy and I love him even more in this series. Adrian and Sidney are the ultimate couple just like Rose and Dimitri and their story just as epic and full of terror, intrigue, and forbidden love.

This part of the story starts where the last left off with Sidney still in Palm Springs taking care of Jill keeping her hidden from those who would harm her when some new and even more terrifying things enter Sidney's world. A Witch with dark powers is taking the lives of innocent girls and putting them into comas and Sidney is sure she is next. The Alchemists that Sidney has known all her life may not be who they say they are and may be siding with the enemy and if all this wasn't bad enough Sidney is falling for the one person in the whole world she should never be falling for!

This book was so incredible I couldn't put it down from start to finish! Rachel Mead is an amazing author that has an amazing understanding for forbidden love. Vampire Academy is one of my favorite series and now this one is right up there too! A definite read! I can't wait for the next one as I hear we get a peek inside of Adrian's head! should be a blast I know I can't wait!

WOW! amazing book! I was on pins and needles waiting for this book and it doesn't disappoint! just when you think nothing more could possibly happen to poor Rhine as she has been though so much this book proves that yes there is more.

Lauren paints a truly vivid dystopian world were chaos rains superior and the meek are definitely not going to win any awards, that is unless they are genetically made like Rhine and Rowan. Rhine Starts out the story pretty much were the last book left off Rhine is in the hospital after having cut the tracking device out of her leg. She is recovering nicely and has Linden and Ceciley by her side, However Vaughn lurks in the background awaiting the perfect time that he can get his claws back into her.

The three of them embark on a journey they never thought they would ever do in order to find Rhine's brother Rowen, with many twists and turns along the way and even some old nightmares come back to haunt them. They never know who or what is coming at them around the next corner and Rhine is sure that the longer it takes to get to her brother the more lost he will be. Gabriel is still missing as well and Rhine is sure she will never have the time to put her life to rights before her time up for good.

I was so sad that this was the last book but it ended so gracefully that I was left feeling content in the end. Lauren is a true marvel and I can't wait to read her next masterpiece!

Time is running out for Rhine in this conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Chemical Garden Trilogy.

With the clock ticking until the virus takes its toll, Rhine is desperate for answers. After enduring Vaughn’s worst, Rhine finds an unlikely ally in his brother, an eccentric inventor named Reed. She takes refuge in his dilapidated house, though the people she left behind refuse to stay in the past. While Gabriel haunts Rhine’s memories, Cecily is determined to be at Rhine’s side, even if Linden’s feelings are still caught between them.

Meanwhile, Rowan’s growing involvement in an underground resistance compels Rhine to reach him before he does something that cannot be undone. But what she discovers along the way has alarming implications for her future—and about the past her parents never had the chance to explain.

In this breathtaking conclusion to Lauren DeStefano’s Chemical Garden trilogy, everything Rhine knows to be true will be irrevocably shattered.

Katie McGarry captivated readers with her “riveting, emotional”* Young Adult debut, Pushing the Limits. In this gripping novella, she tells the story of Lila and Lincoln, who discover that sometimes it’s worth crossing the line for love…

Hurting Lila is the last thing Lincoln wanted. For two years, her letters have been the only thing getting him through the day. WW4BB Presents: House Rules by Chloe Neill is HERE! Book 7 in the Chicagoland Vampires Series

House Rules by Chloe Neill

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an exciting and wonderful new chapter to the Chicagoland Vampires. I really enjoy this series of books and each one brings new and exciting challenges into Merits life. The characters are always witty the scene are always well thought out and dramatic and the bad guys are always the badest of the bad.

In House Rule Marit and Ethan's relationship is just getting back on course after his time away and they are on the brink of settling matters with the DP(the head Vampires) who they have decided to leave. Dorian upon hearing that they no longer want to be part of their secret Vampire club takes a fit and declaimers war on Carington House and its Vampires. Meanwhile there is a psycho killer loose on the streets of Chicago and he or she is targeting Vampires and arranging their bodies and leaving them to be found in the oddest and hardest to get in places, is the killer among them and one of their own? or is McKetrick the Vampire Hunter up to his old tricks again? Merit is on the case and she is sure to figure it all out that is right after she kills Lindsy Ethan's old flame she followed her to a meet with Jonah, her RP partner, and now Ethan thinks she is having an affair! all so that ho can get her hands in to Ethan. There is never a dull moment in the life of the new Carington House Sentinel.

Chloe Neill is a wonderful writer who makes you hold on to her every word as you read her books. I have read every book in this series and there are to be only 3 more left and I for one will be sad to see Merits story end but glad because I go to be one of the people who got to share in her journey.

Touch by Jus Accardo

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

freaking amazing book! if I could give it more then 5 stars I would I couldn't put the book down from start to finish I was intrigued, held captive and totally in love with this book! I loved all the different powers in this book it brought a new element to the story and gave it life. My favorite character was Kale I loved how he saw the world, kind of like a child does when it sees the world for the first time, it brought a magical and whimsical feel to the story.

17 year old Dez Cross's whole life changes the night a gorgeous boy falls at her feet quite literally. She is sure that bringing him home to piss off her dad is the perfect thing to do, after all that is the only way to get any reaction out of her father these days, however the plans backfire when it turns out that her father head of the Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons.

Dez and Kale go on the run together dodging guns, tranq darts, men in jump suits and much more. Kale isn't a regular guy either for some reason he showers in his shoes, has no idea what DVD's are and looks at the world like a boy seeing it for the first time. Also his touch it kills! everything except Dez for some reason. why the hell is that? Dez has a feeling it has to do with a secret she has been keeping, one that will make her father stand up and finally take notice. So now she is going in, in to Denazen undercover to rescue her mother and she isn't going to stop till she brings the whole corporation down.

Jus Accardo is a wonderfully superb writer who makes you live right in the story bit by bit, whose graphic imagery lets you see, smell and taste the the life that your reading. I couldn't get enough of the book and never wanted it to end. I can't wait to devour the next book!

When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.

Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

very good little short for in between stories. I loved hearing the story through Kale's eyes. He takes such wonderful care of Dez and he loves her so much. I loved getting to see more into his character and his life trapped in the care of the Denazen Corp. I cant wait to read more in the story.

this story is about Kale and Dez and their trip to hunt down people on the list during the summer.
they stop and meet Kiernan a girl who has the power to camouflage herself into her surroundings, rendering her invisible, however before they can get Kiernan to safety the Denazen Corporation shows up and they are on the run again. defiantly never a dull moment in the life of a six.

View all my reviews

Until he met Dez, Kale’s days were filled with violence and death. He was used as a weapon of destruction by the power hungry men of Denazen. He’s a Six. A person with an abnormal ability. Some people call them gifts, but not Kale. Kale’s touch means instant death.

But now there’s Dez, the girl he can touch, and they’re hunting down Sixes and warning them about Denazen. Kale is learning about the world outside captivity and trying to put his dark past behind him. But they underestimated how badly Denazen wanted him back.

When Dez sacrifices herself to save the new Six they’d rescued from falling into the corp’s hands, Kale is lost. Denazen has brought out its best to get the job done. Samsen, a nightmare from Kale’s past—the only person he’s ever truly feared—has come for them, and it soon becomes obvious he has his own twisted agenda.

Kale will need all his training to get Dez back and ensure they make it out, free—and alive. But will it be enough?

When a Six saved Kale's life the night of Sumrun, she warned there would be consequences. A trade-off. Something taken for the life they gained. But Dez never imagined she'd lose the one thing she'd give anything to keep... And as if it's not enough Dez finds her immunity to Kale fading, the Six brought in to help Kale learn to control his killer touch starts drooling on him the moment they meet. Worse than that? Jade can touch Kale. But bimbo Barbie is the least of Dez's problems.

After Dez and Kale got away at Sumrun, her father lost not only his most powerful weapon but an important piece of the Supremacy project. Forced by Denazen to remedy the situation, he poisons Dez and offers her a choice--surrender to Denazen for the cure...or die. Determined to find a solution that doesn't involve being bagged and tagged--or losing someone she loves--Dez keeps the poison a secret. But when a rash of Denazen attacks hit a little too close to home, Dez is convinced there's a traitor among them. Jade.

Sacrifices, broken promises, and secrets. Dez will have to lay it all on the line if there's any hope of proving Jade's guilt before they all end up Residents of Denazen. Or worse, dead..

WOW! 100/100 stars! I totally loved this book and never wanted it to end! and almost cried when it did!this was prob my favorite book so far in the series, I really, really, really loved the first one but this one knocked my socks off! I would go as far as to say it is my favorite book of the year so far!

In this book Dez and Kale learn the price that they have to pay for saving Kale's life back in Touch is going to be much harder to cope with then they thought and Ginger the resident "Queen" of Sixes thinks that Jade, a six with the ability to ground harmful gifts, is the answer to Kale and Dez's problem. Dez thinks that Jade just wants to steal her boyfriend and is working undercover for the Denazen Corporation, while Kale will do just about anything to learn to master his gift, except go back to Denazen. To make matters worse Dez has a new secret she has been keeping one that is very bad and one that is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off waiting to destroy them all.

This book was amazing! there were some really awesome new bad guys and some great plot twists ones I never saw coming and I usually know how a story is going to end before it gets there. The characters are fantastic and so real that you are sucked in from the moment you start to the moment you finish and reality sets back in and you realize it is all over. superb reading! recommend to one and all!!!!
